Well after our whirlwind visit today and 25k lighter, we dont feel worried at all! we both just wanted to say thankyou. We are sure you hear it all the time, but from us - its a yorkshire one!Vicki was convinced she's found the right dealership immediately, but was worried about commiting before the money was in the bank, thus the hesitation. She is looking forward to her new car as soon as i can express things along! but these things take time and ive told her that patience will be worth waiting for.

Dear Sir/MadamCan I take this opportunity just to say a few words on complementing you all for servicing my treasured Land Rover Defender on Wednesday 10.0 1.07.
I am highly pleased with the results, both from the service and finally finishing off by cleaning it. Not only that, but I was impressed with the polite and courteous way in which I was attended to. I can honestly say I will be recommending you all to my colleagues and friends and will definitely be using your services next time. Once again thank all your service team for me.
Kind regards,

Mr L Kenning

Following the demise of our 1988 Range Rover V8 EFI SE which we ran on LPG earlier this year we started looking for a replacement vehicle. It was a difficult task as the RR had served us well for 18 years towing our Avondale Landranger Twin Axle Caravan since 1996 for about 80 to 90 thousand miles. Our venture started in May 2006 with the Lexus RX400 Hybrid which was an outstanding vehicle although our caravan was close to the maximum towing capability. This together with disappointing eco factor of the hybrid/petrol system led to our discounting this vehicle and moving on.
We next looked at the Toyota Surf having been impressed with the old model some years ago. Unfortunately the only new models available had the twin cab and pickup which we did not want. The Landcruiser although suitable for our requirements looked a bulky 4x4 with the suspension giving a hard ride.
Our next port of call was to view the Ssanyong Rexton which we liked apart from the plastic wood effect on the interior. It met all our requirements but I was unable to test drive the vehicle as by this time I had broken my ankle and was unable to drive.
Following a recommendation we then looked at the Jeep Grand Cherokee which again met all our requirements but again I was still unable to drive so did not test drive the vehicle.
The next vehicle we looked at was the Hyundai Santa Fe this again had a maximum towing weight of 2000kg making the Landranger close to maximum. Unfortunately the dealer was unable to offer a test drive due to staff shortage.
Following the Caravan Club car of the year results we visited the Kia franchise to view the Sorento. Although this would meet our requirements for a towing vehicle we found it a bit cramped inside.
Some friends meanwhile had returned from caravanning in France and unbeknown to us had purchased a Rexton SE which had towed their single axle caravan faultlessly for the 3 weeks of their holiday. It was also used as a company vehicle and they were impressed with the Rexton particularly its load capacity, towing ability and comfort.
This led us to revisit the local Ssangyong Dealer who informed us about the Rexton 2. We decided to await the launch of this model and went home with the brochure and specifications. The only concern we had regarding the Rexton 2 was the space saver spare wheel and its suitability of use whilst towing. After numerous calls to our local dealer, whose answers ranged from its a standard spare to dont know I contacted Ssanyong who confirmed the Rexton would tow with the space saver wheel on the rear of the vehicle.
Obtaining information from our local dealer regarding delivery of a Rexton 2 and enquiries regarding specifications was similar to the quoteulation of pulling teeth.
Imagine my surprise therefore on contacting Paul Hought at ARD Howden who not only explained and answered all my enquiries but arranged for a test drive within 2 days of my contacting him.
It was a pleasant experience to deal with Paul and to order our Rexton 2 with him and will have no hesitation in recommending ARD Howden to anyone who is considering the purchase of a replacement vehicle.

We live in Guildford but go on holiday to Goathland, North Yorkshire every year. We had by millennium year owned two Discoverys and consequently had been to the Landrover garage in Pickering where we had met Russell. Russell we discovered was a great Landrover enthusiast. In fact Russell was an enthusiast about life.Russell started a small works shop and sales unit in Howden, East Yorkshire. It was called ARD. We bought our present Discovery from Russell in February 2000. The car came via Holland and is a different car to the first two its reliable. ARD are visited every year for the car to be serviced and now MOTd. We are getting to know the village of Howden especially where to eat, its a great place.
Soon we will be buying our fourth Discovery where from? ARD of course.

ARD installed an LPG conversion on my 1.8 Freelander 5 years ago. One major benefit is the location of the gas tank under the floor leaving the loadspace completely clear. The conversion was very professionally done and has been totally trouble free.I continue to have repair and service work done by ARD despite recently having moved to Newcastle as I value their honest and friendly service, without paying main dealer prices.

I am glad I followed those of you who started ARD and 4+ years on I have absolutely no regrets. Personable service, attention to detail and a willingness to be fair in all respects marks ARD out from the rest. Occasionally, for fun, I wander into other (Land Rover) showrooms and am appalled by the response. That is why I shall continue to buy my cars from, and have them serviced by, enthusiasts such as yourselves.

This is simply a letter to thank you and all the staff at ARD Landrovers for superb service received in the five years that I have been dealing with you. Nothing has been too much trouble and the money and time that you have invested in your dealership speaks for itself! I would thoroughly recommend to anyone contemplating the purchase of a Landrover to get in touch with you before any other Landrover agency as the service that you provide is second to none! In the near future I hope to be upgrading to a Range Rover and it goes without saying that ARD Landrovers will be my "No. One" priority. With grateful thanks once again for excellent and friendly service provided by a 'top notch" dealership!!!
